The Burros sculpted shape is influenced by Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Traditions. This whimsical work of art is hand painted with colorful Talavera and Majolica influenced patterns that stretch from the back of the back of the head to the tip of the ears. The ceramic base is hand painted with the same matching pattern. Each Donkey is individually painted by the top Talavera / Majolica artisans of Guanajuato Mexico; their technique is inspired by old-world Talavera and Majolica artistry. Every Donkey sculpture is signed by the artist who painted it.
