The German Bible /prayer book appears to be from around the late 1800s. The handwritten inscription states, "May 24, 1891 First Holy Communion prayer book from cousin Anna in Germany". I don't speak or read German so I'm making some assumptions here. This is a very unique piece. It has a "lock/clip" to keep the book shut when not in use. Leather and metal it is a piece that has notable wear consistent with age and use but I'd in overall fantastic condition considering age. Worn attached ribbon book mark and prayer card included. Binding is worn but still in pretty good condition. A few pages have some minor rips or folds. Cover has wear. Please see photos for condition detail. Book size is pocket size roughly 4 1/2" tall x 3" wide x 1 1/4" thick.
