An Antique Victorian 8" square monochrome transfer print ceramic tile made by Minton's Tile Works c1885 Views Series - Old Houses Rouen By L.T.Swetnam set within a decorated border. Dimensions: 8ins x 8ins x 0.5ins (204mm x 204mm x 10mm) In very good antique condition with minor glaze scratches and edge frits commensurate with age and usage (see photos). This is one of a set of twelve tiles produced by Mintons featuring architectural and topographical views. In fact, the views are nearly all taken from the five volume Victorian topographical book Picturesque Europe, published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin. London c1875.
