This is a vintage Russian Caucasian silver alloy drinking horn. This drinking horn originats from the province of Dagestan region of the former USSR, circa 1950s. Drinking horns are traditionally filled with wine and often used for ceremonial purposes in many Caucasian cultures. Each natural bovine horn features an ornamental silver alloy cap to both ends which are hand-etched with intricate patterning and have an Etruscan chain between the two caps.
