Traveling Man Treasures Curiosity Vault is selling this gorgeous 1940s porcelain Buddha/Budai statue from the Antique Republic Period, 1912-1949. One of the Seven Gods of Luck, this Hotei Buddha is shown sitting with his belly exposed and laughing with five children. This particular piece is larger than most, coming in at a stately 12" tall. Buddha is a popular subject in China and is often depicted in sculptures, smiling and with children. The children have older traditional haircuts and lovely clothing in colors of orange, yellow, white, pink, blue, green, purple and black.
