About Legacy 1912 Titanic: The perfume is actually based off of the scents created by British perfume maker Aldophe Saalfeld. Saalfeld was a passenger on the Titanic and brought along perfume samples in his luggage for the transatlantic journey. However, he had to leave his samples behind as he abandoned ship. Sixty-two of 65 vials of Saalfeld's perfume samples were recovered from the bottom of the ocean near the ship. Many of the artifacts remained intact and the scented oils untouched after nearly 100 years buried beneath the ocean. The Legacy 1912 Titanicä combines scents based on those Saalfeld oils and the fragrance features notes such as lemon, neroli, rose and amber.
