Not sold in America, this rarely seen vintage dynamic microphone was originally part of an early 1958 Akai Terecorder Deluxe mono reel-to-reel tape recorder made in Japan and sold only in Eastern markets and base exchanges during that time. This particular model predated and evolved into the later well-known M and ADM series Akai microphones of the 70's. It features original Akai brand of the late 1950's on the front. Notice there are no other model or maker marking. Features vintage "round-tip" TR 1/4-inch plug. We have tested this mic and works very well. No known issues. The grill long ago fell off and disappeared due to dried out glue. We were lucky enough to find similar metal material from the same era that has larger holes, but closely matches the original aesthetic based on 1959 historical artifacts.
