It has 16 treble strings tuned to the scale of C, and four bass strings tuned to the chords of C, G, Am, and F. The instrument is meant to be played with a violin bow in the right hand and the fingers or a pick in the left hand. The ukelin is made of solid wood and has a beautiful sunburst finish. The body is shaped like a violin, but it is slightly larger and has a deeper sound. The neck is long and thin, with a fretboard that is divided into 20 frets. The instrument has two f-holes on the top and a tailpiece on the bottom.
