Capiz shells, also known as Placuna Placenta, come from the windowpane oyster, which is found in the Capiz Province of the Philippines. The inside & edges are lined with black velvet, & the lid has a velvet hinge so it hinges open, but it does NOT have a strap or anything to hold the lid upright when open.
