The spirit stick was invented by Lawrence Herkimer in 1954 at a National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) camp. During a camp, Herkimer noticed a squad that worked hard and encouraged other teams. He cut a small tree branch, decorated it with paint, and gave it to the squad. The spirit stick symbolizes the teamwork, spirit, and support that Herkimer believed to be the essence of cheerleading. These sticks are each 18" long. These sticks have been stored and does need to be cleaned. The stickers on the sticks do have some issues but they are firmly on the sticks. They all have scratches. Tried to get a picture of all scratches but do to limits can't show all. Please see all pictures as they are part of the description.
