Whoever came up with this one in the early 90’s was definitely reaching for a dual audience; we have a 1993 Schwinn zflight, a 20” quasi mountain / bmx experiment that was just a bit ahead of its time on frame geometry. In all honesty, the dimensions here are about as close to a 1997/98 dk legend race bike as anyone gets until the legend’s release; 21” tt with an almost identical standover. Original wheels with 20” x 1.5” 219 racing rims threaded to joytech hubs with a rear 6spd freewheel. Mods include a shimano 105 6spd rear derailleur & threw on a set of mini rear pegs for fun. White Kendra tires are new as well. For the front of the bike, I decided to remove the stock straight style bar with a set of old school racing vbars. With new bars also came a crmo gooseneck stem & complete tioga headset. Had generic, black brakes that were rusting to death, So I replaced the whole system with an old school Lee Chi MX brake caliper & lever. Seat, post, clamp were all swapped as well.
